The play Macbeth tells the story of an ambitious man who slaughters his way to the throne of Scotland (See Left Map). Upon reaching the throne, however, Macbeth faces corruption and madness instead of luxury and kingship. From the time he reaches the throne, his downward spiral to self destruction has already begun and his fate is sealed as a horrible tyrant to the Scottish people.
